Planning Tool for Office Communications Server 2007

The planning tool provides you prescriptive guidance to get you started with planning your Office Communications Server 2007 topology. The tool asks you a series of interview questions about the features that you are interested in, as well as information about your organization. Based on the answers you provide, the planning tool draws out a recommended topology based on Microsoft’s Office Communications Server 2007 User Model that has been tested. The planning tool also provides customized links to the appropriate documentation to help you plan and deploy your topology.

You can download the Planning Tool for Office Communications Server 2007 at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=06793661-cd69-4490-bb4b-e97dd271209d&displaylang=en

Each time I click on any of the items in the tool it tries to launch another window that links back to the OCS site. I receive the following error message. The web page is not available because there is no internet connection. Connect to the internet, and then try again.

IE is my default browser. I have an internet connection. Any suggestions?

This error will occur when the application is trying to access an Internet resource, and it can’t do so.

Can you access the following link in your IE browser? http://r.office.microsoft.com/r/rlidOCS?clid=1033&p1=library

This is the same link if you would have click on 'Server Documentation' in the left-hand side of the tool.

When the tool is draws the final picture, the drawing area is too small and I can't see the whole picture. There is missing parts from right hand side.

The problem is with the resolution. What is your resolution set to?

my resolution is set to 1280x800. I can see everything just fine. Try adjusting and see if that does the trick for you.

Hi,
Great tool but in my laptop it shows only part of the information, the main frame uses only half of the destop size, but the menus and the information pane only show part of the information. is there some work around for this problem? I use winXp, .net 3.5 and screen reslution is 1400x1050, putting it to 1280x800 also shows the same problem.
regards,

I can't get this to lauch.  I installed with no errors.  When I launch it goes to hour glass for 5 secs and then nothing happens.  Any ideas?  I uninstalled and re-installed and rebooted.  Running XP Pro, SP2.

Thanks

Hi. I am trying to use the Capacity Planning and Stress tool for OCS R2. I find that the clients are created successfully and even have contacts created in different groups (checked manually using Communicator). However, when I run the stress tool, the clients are not able to login. Anyone else who has encountered this issue, or provide help? Thanks.
